Description
Our hand made, wheat free and vegan Finnish Rye Bread is a basic plain rye sourdough made with organic, stone ground, and whole grain rye flour, water, rye malt, and sea salt. Finnish Rye Bread does not contain any sweeteners and spices; flavor and texture of the bread is achieved with long natural fermentation with the help of wild yeast (starter), and it has tangy rye flavor many know and love from their travels to Scandinavia, Germany, and Russia. Naturally fermented rye breads are dense and very filling.
Rye sourdough bread stays fresh for up to two weeks if kept refrigerated. Freezing is also a great way to store bread longer conserving both flavor or texture. It’s best to thaw your bread at room temperature.

This is our third order from EstoEtno and the Finnish 100% Rye Sourdought Bread is consistently great. In fact it’s gone in 3 days or so!. It has a fresh, deep taste that goes well with any type of meal or snack be it for a dip or a hearty sandwich filled with goodies. Importantly, unlike most supermarket breads, it leaves you feeling full for a good amount of time. We highly recommend trying this creation from Tiina and give it 5 stars!

Living abroad as a child, my family got use to the amazing variety of real bread that Europeans eat daily. Coming back to the states was a shock to the system when presented with things called Wonder Bread, seemingly made out of library paste. It has been extremely difficult to find 100% rye sour dough bread locally. EstoEtno’s bread’s are the best.

When I ordered this bread I thought it was overpriced. However, I began to feel differently when I hefted the heavy package I received. You get what you pay for–lots of densely-packed nutrition. Also it is easy to cut and presents a mellow sourdough taste.
