Finnish Rye Bread


Wheat free and naturally fermented (sourdough) whole rye bread with seeds



Our hand made, wheat free and vegan Finnish Rye is basic (plain) rye sourdough made with organic  stone ground whole grain rye flour, water, rye malt, and sea salt. This basic sourdough has sour flavor many Scandinavians, Germans, and Russians prefer. Finnish Rye Bread does not contain any sweeteners or spices.

There is no added yeast in our breads; flavor and texture is achieved with long natural fermentation with the help of wild yeast (starter). Naturally fermented rye breads have very little air in them making densely textured breads very filling.

Rye sourdough bread stays fresh for up to two weeks if kept refrigerated. Freezing is also a great way to store bread longer without compromising flavor or texture. It’s best to thaw your bread at room temperature.
